Product review

Complete mounting kit: The package contains three acrylic salt block holders plus a full set of fasteners — 12 screws and 12 wall plugs (anchors) — and one screwdriver. Everything needed to attach the holders to stable walls, pasture fence posts or barn boards is included so you can set them up right away.

Designed for 4 lb blocks: Each holder measures approximately 4.72" x 2.8" x 7.5", sized to accept common 4 lb mineral or salt bricks, including Himalayan-type and red trace mineral blocks. The frame secures blocks so they stay in place while animals lick.

Durable, rust-free material: Constructed from high-strength, odorless acrylic plastic in black. Unlike metal stands, these will not corrode, making them suitable for outdoor or humid environments and safe for repeated contact with livestock.

Easy licking and drainage: The design offers open-side and front access so horses, deer, goats and other animals can reach the block easily. Bottom drainage holes allow rainwater to escape, reducing rapid dissolution of the salt during wet weather.

Where to use: Intended for use in horse stables, cattle pastures, deer feeding spots, goat pens and along farm fence lines. Note that salt blocks are not included; the holders present and protect the blocks while allowing animals constant access.

Pros

  • Complete mounting hardware included
  • Rust-proof, odorless acrylic construction
  • Open access plus bottom drainage

Cons

  • Can crack if animals push hard
  • Salt blocks not included
  • May require careful placement for larger animals

VerdictA convenient complete mounting kit that holds standard 4 lb salt or mineral bricks and keeps them accessible to horses, goats, deer and cattle. The acrylic won’t rust and the holders drain water, but they can crack under strong force. Good for light to moderate use where animals lick gently.

    Too fragile — risky

Avoid these. They split very easily and leave sharp pieces that could injure animals or people. I removed mine before anyone got hurt.

  2. Rachel L Snoddy 1/5

    Cracked on first use

It shattered the moment a horse leaned against it while licking the block.

Works well for my horses and goats

Very pleased so far. I installed two for horses and one for a goat; they’ve held up and were easy to mount. Arrived well-packed in bubble wrap.
