Product review

Includes one continuous 100-foot length of black airline tubing suitable for aquarium use.

The tube measures the standard 3/16" (outer/nominal fitting size) so it will fit typical aquarium air pumps, check valves, airline connectors, air stones, flow-control valves and many decorative air-driven ornaments.

Manufactured from a flexible, CO2-resistant material that is designed to remain soft and pliable rather than hardening over time.

Engineered to resist kinking for extended periods, helping maintain steady airflow and simpler routing behind or beneath tank décor.

The dark finish blends into planted and rock layouts more easily than translucent or bright-colored hoses.

Formulated to be compatible with both freshwater and saltwater aquaria. Use it to route air from pumps to diffusers, sponges, reactors, and other aeration devices.

Pros

  • Long 100 ft length for extensive setups
  • Flexible and CO2-resistant, stays pliable
  • Dark color minimizes visibility in tanks

Cons

  • May be thinner than some clear tubing options
  • Can slip on very smooth plastic barbs over time
  • Only available in a single color on the spool

VerdictA reliable, long-length airline hose for hobby aquariums that connects to common fittings and performs well over time. It’s soft enough to push onto air stones and valves, resists CO2-related degradation, and holds flexibility so it won’t become brittle in most setups. The black color helps it recede visually in tanks. A solid, no-frills tubing option for routine aeration and air-driven ornamentat

Reviews

  1. Michael W 4/5

    Thinner than I expected

Feels a bit slimmer than the clear tubing I’ve used before, though it still functions fine.

  2. Tony Reed 5/5

    Easy to install

Connects cleanly and fits snugly on standard fittings. No trouble getting it onto pumps or valves.

  3. Kenny 5/5

    Solid, flexible hose

Does the job — more flexible than some brands, so it slides onto air-stones and fittings with less fuss. Holds up well during use and performs as expected.

  4. Just a Dad 5/5

    Good appearance and flex

Looks tidy and bends easily for neat routing around decor.

  5. Robert Dote 5/5

    Exceeded expectations

Quality was better than I anticipated — sturdy and performs well.

  6. DM 5/5

    Reliable and flexible

Very flexible and shows no signs of drying out, cracking, or rotting so far.

  7. JW 5/5

    Attractive finish

Dark color looks nice and unobtrusive in the tank.

  8. Bill 5/5

    Durable and discreet

I’ve purchased this tubing multiple times. It stays soft and grips ridged metal barbs reliably. It can occasionally slip from smooth tapered plastic barbs, but roughing those barbs fixes that. Compared with colored or clear lines, black doesn’t seem to stiffen or attract algae and blends into the tank better.
