Product review

Godox’s 2025 V480-F is an updated TTL flash designed for Fujifilm cameras. The head combines a responsive touchscreen with physical buttons so you can change settings quickly. It supports TTL metering, full Manual control, Multi (stroboscopic) mode and High-Speed Sync up to 1/8000 s. Built into the unit is Godox’s 2.4 GHz X wireless system, allowing the flash to function as both a transmitter and receiver across 32 channels with a range up to 100 m in open conditions.

The kit includes the flash head with an integrated catchlight panel and a slide-out wide-angle diffuser for softer, broader coverage — useful for groups and environmental portraits without adding extra modifiers. Light diffusion is engineered to produce even, soft output while the catchlight panel creates more dimensional eye highlights when needed. These tools are built into the head for instant shaping without reaching for additional accessories.

Power comes from a 7.2 V, 2200 mAh removable battery providing roughly 650 full-power flashes per charge with a recycle time around 1.7 seconds at full output. A USB‑C port allows in-field topping up so you can charge between shoots or use an external power bank for extended sessions. The battery format is shared with several Godox units, making spares interchangeable across compatible models.

For directional control the head tilts from -7° to 120° and rotates a full 330°, enabling conventional ceiling/fill bounces as well as side-lighting for dramatic effects. A 10-level modeling lamp helps preview shadow placement and intensity before the main flash fires, which is helpful for setting up lighting on location.

Construction is focused on portability and practicality: compact dimensions for travel and event use, an intuitive user interface, and the wireless features expected in modern on-camera strobes. The V480-F is aimed at photographers who need a flexible, travel-friendly TTL flash with good battery endurance and integrated light-shaping tools.

Pros

  • Touchscreen plus physical controls for fast operation
  • Strong battery life with USB-C charging support
  • Built-in 2.4 GHz X wireless as transmitter and receiver

VerdictThe V480-F packs modern features into a compact TTL head: touch and tactile controls, fast HSS up to 1/8000s, and Godox’s 2.4GHz X system so it can operate as transmitter or receiver. Its 2200mAh battery delivers many full-power flashes and USB-C charging keeps you shooting through long sessions. The integrated diffusion tools and flexible tilt/rotation make shaping light simple for on-camera boun

Reviews

  1. Ottimo raporto prezzo- qualità. 5/5

    Well-made accessory

Solid accessory with many configuration options.

  2. Wayne 5/5

    Solid performance, a touch costly

Performs well with reliable output and features, though it feels slightly on the costly side compared with simpler options.

  3. Boukapaf 5/5

    Compact travel companion

Perfect small flash for travel. Compact and lightweight, works well with my Canon R7 in TTL, supports second curtain sync, and includes a few small accessories. Very satisfied overall.

  4. Client Kindle 5/5

    Compact yet powerful

Excellent entry-level product: powerful for its size and shipped with useful accessories. Delivery was prompt.

  5. Rodrigo 5/5

Outstanding runtime and live charging saved my events

I paired this with Godox triggers on Sony and was impressed—battery life is excellent (I shot hundreds during long events on a single cell). Being able to charge from a powerbank while shooting meant no downtime. The LED modeling lamp also helped AF in dim scenes. Build feels solid at the hot shoe, but I wish a protective hard or semi-rigid case was included given the glossy screen and glass.

  6. Eugene 5/5

Big capabilities in a small package

Light and handy with a pleasant touchscreen menu. Plenty of flashes per charge—I recommend it for macro work.

  7. simone b. 5/5

    Great choice for my OM-1

Finally a reasonably priced flash that’s powerful enough for my OM-1. Easy menus and clear display. Battery lasts a long time; at full power recycle is a bit over a second but generally fast. Pairs easily with my Godox trigger and the connection stayed stable in tests. Not a pro, but it covers everything I need and is lighter and much less costly than some round-head models.

  8. Robert Hsiang 5/5

    Lightweight, reliable event flash

A very usable unit: not heavy but powerful enough for wedding and event work. The battery lasts a long time and the touchscreen is easy to use. It can switch between transmitter and receiver modes, and it replaced my heavier older flashes while feeling better balanced on the camera. Batteries are shared with other Godox models so I can carry spares.

  9. Samaelle 5/5

Surprised by how well it performs

First time using this model and I’m very pleased—works great and battery longevity impressed me right away.

  10. Sonja 1/5

    Frustrating battery availability

Unit works fine, but replacement batteries are nearly impossible to find locally. I always travel with spares and knowing I couldn’t buy extras was a deal breaker in hindsight—once the only cell dies the flash is unusable.

  11. Neodymium Bean 5/5

Great value for features, could use tougher finish

This flash delivers far more than its size suggests and handles like older midrange units in feel and sound. It can act as a master in the ecosystem but has limits compared with higher-end masters. Size is compact compared with flagship heads and power is a bit lower, which can be offset by raising ISO. Interface is intuitive, though physical materials could be improved.
