Product review
What you get: This kit contains 50 black electric wire fence insulators and 100 matching screws, enough to cover several sections of wood-post fencing or multiple fence lines. The quantity is intended to support projects ranging from small pet enclosures to larger pasture runs.
Materials and construction: Each insulator is molded from non-conductive engineering plastic chosen for its high mechanical strength and insulating properties. The screws supplied are durable metal fasteners that resist bending during installation. Both the plastic and metal components are formulated to withstand UV exposure and outdoor weather without deforming or becoming hazardous to people or animals.
Design and features: The insulators use a strong claw-style head with a smooth finish and uniform wall thickness. The profile creates an arc-protection zone that helps prevent electrical short circuits by keeping the conductor separated from the wood post. Corrosion-resistant materials and a weatherproof build extend service life and maintain reliable insulation over time.
Dimensions and compatibility: Each insulator measures roughly 3.35 inches in length and about 1.57 inches in width. The opening accommodates conductor diameters up to roughly 1/5 inch, making them suitable for poly wire, poly rope, single- or multi-strand steel wire, and similar lines commonly used on farms and ranches.
Application notes: These post insulators are intended for wood posts and are compatible with low-impedance and standard-load energizers and gate controllers. They are primarily used to prevent shorts between the conductor and the fence post and can be nailed or screwed into wooden posts for livestock, pet, or perimeter fencing.
Pros
- Durable, UV- and weather-resistant plastic
- Includes ample screws and insulators for multiple runs
- Claw design keeps wire clear of wooden posts
Cons
- Included screws may be short for very dry or deep posts
- Not all models accept thicker electro-braid rope
- Dimensions may vary slightly from listings
VerdictA robust set of post-mounted insulators suitable for wooden fences and a variety of conductive lines. The kit includes plenty of pieces for multiple runs and comes with screws that are solid enough for most installations, though some users with very dry or rocky ground may prefer longer anchors. The molded claw and arc-reducing shape help keep wires away from posts and minimize shorting. Overall,

Measure before ordering
Product itself was fine, but the listed dimensions were off for my rope type, so they didn’t fit my electrobraid.

Sturdy on the pasture
I added a live strand to the horse pasture and swapped out an old clip system that kept failing. Installation was straightforward, though I opted for longer screws in our very dry ground for a firmer hold. The screws that came with the kit were still useful for smaller tasks. Both my dad and I picked the same model independently, which made us laugh. Six months in and two mustangs haven’t managed to break any of them.

Solid and durable so far
Good material; they look solid and durable. Time will tell how they hold up long term.

Holding up well
Very pleased with these. They feel solid and have stood up to our horses and the electric line without issues.

Survived severe weather
We went through a hurricane with trees falling onto our electric line and these did not break. Very easy to fit, they held our electro-braid without failing and continued to insulate the line after the storm.

Good quality, reordered more
High quality — I bought one set and needed extra, so I ordered another pack without hesitation.

Reliable for long runs
I’ve installed electric fencing for decades and these have been among the most dependable insulators I’ve used. They come with proper screws instead of flimsy nails. I used roughly 180 pieces to enclose a quarter-mile with 8 ft spacing between posts and found them reliable throughout the job.
