Product review

Rawlings teamed with Aaron Judge to produce the Foundation Series catcher's mitt, a collaboration that pairs game-quality features with a charitable element. For every Foundation Series mitt sold, Rawlings will donate a glove to children connected to Aaron Judge's ALL RISE Foundation.

What you get: a catcher's mitt built to game-ready standards. This model is offered in multiple sizes and includes a right-hand-throw 32.5" one-piece solid web option specifically configured for catchers.

Materials and construction: the shell is crafted from soft, full-grain leather for a premium feel and long life. The mitt uses pro-style patterning to support defensive play and incorporates Dual Core Technology padding to reduce the sting when receiving the ball.

Break-in and use: the glove arrives mostly formed — roughly 75% factory and 25% player — so the player puts in the final shaping. It is designed for competitive baseball use across ages, striking a balance between out-of-the-box structure and the ability to customize the fit and pocket through play.

Pros

  • Full-grain leather shell for durability and feel
  • Dual Core padding reduces sting on catches
  • Game-ready pattern with controlled break-in

Cons

  • Arrives fairly stiff and needs break-in
  • Limited color and web variations in this model
  • Might be heavy for very young players

  1. Charles 4/5

    Rigid now, should last

Very stiff out of the box — firmer than casual gloves. That rigidity should extend the mitt's life, so it appears durable.

  2. charpacsuppliescorp 5/5

    Leather looks torn

Not very stiff; leather seems split, arrives feeling soft.

Great gift for a serious kid

I bought this for my grandson for the holidays. He's a dedicated player — his father played professionally and coaches pitching. Quality fits his level and I recommend it.
