I didn’t see any deep scratches on my flat top. The brick scrapes away grease easily and gradually crumbles to powder so the abrasive face stays unclogged. A blast of hot water clears built-up gunk and it’s ready again. It also wipes cooked-on grime off smoker racks and grill grates — it wears down as it works, but that’s expected.
