What’s included: 100 shrink bags sized 10 x 18 inches, a roll of zip ties, and a sheet of adhesive labels (label appearance may vary).

Materials and build: Film thickness is approximately 3 mil (about 75 microns) with seven protective layers. The material is manufactured without BPA or BPS and is commercial-grade for repeated use in small processing operations.

Size and fit: Each 10 x 18 inch bag is intended to accommodate whole poultry in the 3–7 lb range, including fryer chickens, Cornish crosses, and similar birds. The slightly longer bag length gives extra surface to grip and helps reduce the chance of burns or handling slips during the heat-shrink process.

How to use: Follow the included instructions. Typically, submerge the filled bag in clean water heated to roughly 185–200°F (85–93°C) for about 3–5 seconds to activate the shrink. Two common venting methods are used: insert a thin straw to expel air, or make a small 1/4" slit near the top to let air escape. No single-use plastic straws are required. After shrinking, secure with the supplied zip ties and apply a label for identification.

Origin: Manufactured in the USA to commercial standards for food storage and freezer protection.

Pros

  • Durable 7-layer, 75-micron film
  • BPA and BPS free material
  • Includes zip ties and labels

Cons

  • Labels are not fully waterproof
  • Requires precise water temperature
  • Tight fit for larger birds

VerdictThese heat-shrink bags deliver tight, professional-looking seals and heavy-duty protection for freezer-stored poultry. The multi-layer, 75-micron film is durable and BPA/BPS-free, and the kit includes ties and labels for organized storage. Performance depends on proper heating technique and correct bag orientation; labels can be tricky when wet and very large birds may be a tight fit. For routine

    Wraps whole chickens neatly

These bags do an excellent job sealing whole chickens for long-term freezer storage.

  2. Julia 4/5

    Good quality but size limit

Seals very well, but anything over about 8 lbs is difficult to bag.

  3. terry 5/5

    Dependable over time

I’ve purchased these repeatedly. They hold up reliably in the freezer and keep poultry protected.

  4. Mr.Q 5/5

    Handles larger Cornish cross birds

Great for Cornish cross birds around 7–8 lbs and smaller birds as well. We process once a year and haven’t had freezer burn after a year.

  5. YooperChickenFarmer 5/5

    Solid product but label caveat

Product sealed well overall, but if you puncture the film the included sticker won’t stay stuck when wet. The adhesive peels off easily and small holes can turn into tears. I switched to the straw venting method to avoid punctures.

  6. Jay H 4/5

    Too snug for some chickens

6 lb birds were a struggle to fit into these bags; 7 lb would likely not fit comfortably.

  7. Dianne 5/5

    Worthwhile investment for bulk runs

We used these for 75 chickens. They save space compared with regular freezer bags and worked well for pieces and most whole birds. A few larger birds were tight but overall very useful.

  8. Rea 5/5

Easy to use with a small tweak

First time using shrink bags after losing meat to freezer burn. I used 10x18 for 2½ lb rabbits. The straw method gave mixed results, but a 1/4" slit vent worked perfectly every time. Bags sealed neatly even around a bit of protruding bone and didn’t tear. Hoping they prevent freezer burn; very pleased so far.

  9. Valerie Heath 5/5

    As advertised

Product matches its description and performs as expected.

  10. Joel W. Côté-Kanning 5/5

    Nice finish after adjusting process

We found better results dunking in fully boiling water and using heavy gloves for safety. Once we adapted our technique the birds had a smooth, polished look. The stickers to cover any holes were handy.

  11. Customer 4/5

Good for broilers with careful technique

They work for broilers but are sensitive to water temperature—just a few degrees low and shrinking is poor. Insert birds head-first and keep seams to the sides for best results. I’ll use them again and monitor freezer performance.

  12. George Robertson 5/5

    Exceeded expectations

We weren’t sure at first, but the bags worked great. We’ll be ordering more.
