Product review
TAJ Sharbati Atta is presented in a single 20-pound (9.08 kg) bag of stone-ground chakki atta produced entirely from Sharbati wheat.
The flour is whole-grain, retaining bran and germ, and is declared a source of dietary iron and fiber. It contains no maida, no added preservatives, and no flour whiteners—just pure Sharbati wheat milled by traditional stone grinding.
Intended uses include rotis, chapatis and parathas; the texture is aimed to produce soft, pliable flatbreads that puff and keep a golden color even after several hours. The mill produces a fine, smooth grain that’s easier to handle than coarser whole-wheat flours.
Because the package is large, many users divide the contents into smaller portions and vacuum-seal or refrigerate to maintain freshness and prevent infestation. Typical preparation involves kneading into dough, rolling thin, and cooking on a hot tava or griddle for quick, soft breads.
Pros
- Makes soft, fluffy rotis and chapatis
- 100% Sharbati whole-grain, stone-ground
- No maida, preservatives, or whitening agents
Cons
- Higher cost than some ordinary flours
- Large 20 lb bag requires repackaging for storage
- At least one report of packaging contamination
VerdictThis stone-ground Sharbati atta delivers reliably soft, puffing flatbreads and keeps a natural golden hue for hours. Made from whole Sharbati wheat and milled on chakki stones, it provides fiber and iron with no maida, preservatives, or whiteners. The large 20 lb bag offers value for households that bake often, though buyers should repack for long-term storage and be aware of at least one reported

Great for homemade flatbreads
I've enjoyed making my own flatbreads and wish I'd started earlier. The flour handles well and gives a nice texture and flavor to the bread.

Fine-milled, easy to work with
First time using chapati-specific flour — it's finely ground and smooth, not gritty. Dough is easy to roll thin without tearing, breads fold well and puff up. I portioned and vacuum-sealed the rest to keep it fresh.

Versatile and tasty
I mixed a little salt and oil with warm water, kneaded for around ten minutes, and let the dough rest a few hours. It remained workable after freezing and thawing, made good rotis, wraps, and even lighter biscuits — plenty to last months.

High quality yet a bit costly
Excellent flour; fulkas stay soft and puff up nicely, though it feels a little costly compared with other options.

Good flavor and consistency
Pleasant taste and reliable texture. It costs more than some brands, but I would recommend it for daily use.

Packaging contamination — alarming
When I opened the bag a baby bottle nipple fell into my bowl. I've bought this regularly and am shocked and upset about what may have been consumed. I'm posting this warning and including photos for others.
