Product review
Designed to shield eyes from sparks and intense welding radiation, these professional welding goggles block ultraviolet and infrared light and reduce glare. The optical system claims to filter up to 99% of harmful light, protecting vision during typical welding tasks.
The goggles employ an auto-darkening LCD lens that shifts from a clear viewing state to a darkened shade when it senses the arc. Shade settings transition between DIN3 (light) and DIN11 (dark), and the detector reacts in about 5/10000 seconds to prevent flash exposure. When welding stops the lens reverts to the light state for normal visibility.
Built from durable PC and ABS materials, the frame is adjustable for a secure fit. The true-color 1/1/1/2 optical-clarity lens aims to preserve accurate detail and contrast so the work area remains identifiable both when darkened and clear. A hard PC front lens offers impact resistance to protect the dimming screen from spatter and debris like sand, liquid, small gravel and dust.
Power comes from an integrated solar panel so no regular battery swaps are required; keep the panel exposed to light to maintain charge. The unit is lightweight at roughly 58 g (about 2 oz), making it easy to carry and wear for short periods without fatigue.
Kit contents include one pair of auto-darkening welding goggles, five replacement protective PC lenses, one adjustable elastic head strap and one pair of welding gloves. Intended primarily for TIG, MIG and stick observation, they work well for assistants and anyone who needs fast-reacting eye protection.
If the lens stops reacting or won’t darken, insufficient solar charge is often the cause. Place the goggles in strong light for a while so the solar cell can recharge before testing again.
Pros
- Fast 5/10000s arc detection
- Solar-powered—no batteries to replace
- Includes spare PC lenses and gloves
Cons
- Not a complete helmet replacement
- One-piece fit may allow peripheral light
- Some users report inconsistent darkening
VerdictThese auto-darkening welding goggles deliver rapid arc detection and clear true-color viewing for observers or assistants. Constructed from PC and ABS with a protective front lens, they switch from light to dark fast (DIN3 to DIN11) and return to clear when welding stops. The kit includes five spare protective PC inserts, an elastic head strap and a pair of gloves. They’re compact, solar-charged a

Essential for welding helpers
Perfect for an assistant or someone observing a weld. The lenses darken instantly when the arc strikes, so reaction time is excellent. Visibility is clear both dark and light, they sit comfortably and are a great value.

Worked for brazing, needs tweaking
They fit well and handled one brazing session, but they occasionally went too dark and I couldn’t see my work. I’ll keep experimenting with the settings.

Test before use — one lens failed
Make sure to test them before striking an arc. One of the lenses did not switch to dark at all.

Handy but watch for sun marks
I like the convenience and quick darkening, but after an hour in bright sun I ended up with a noticeable ring around my eyes where they blocked the light.

Better as an observer shield
Fine for watching welding but I wouldn’t substitute them for a full helmet. The gloves are usable, though the inner liners are disappointing.
