Product review

Pike jeweler's piercing blades come as a full gross — 144 individual blades bundled into 12-dozen groups for convenient storage and access. These are 2/0 size blades intended for fine piercing and detail cutting in jewelry and metalwork.

Manufactured in Switzerland from a specially formulated alloy steel, the blades undergo a precise tempering process that produces consistent flexibility and a distinctive golden-straw finish. Each blade is produced to tight tolerances so tooth pitch, angle, and size remain uniform from one blade to the next.

The teeth are ground to provide a straight, clean cutting line, while the rounded back of each blade helps when navigating curves. Blades measure approximately 5-1/4 inches in length and are suitable for cutting a wide range of metals and other hard materials used in jewelry and small-scale metal fabrication.

Pros

  • Uniform teeth for precise cuts
  • Golden-tempered alloy resists breakage
  • Large 144-piece supply reduces reordering

Cons

  • Can dull faster under heavy or high-speed use
  • Some reports of breakage if twisted or misused
  • Not optimized for heavy stock removal

VerdictThese Pike 2/0 jeweler's blades deliver consistent, fine-pitch cutting for piercing and delicate metalwork. Many users praise their longevity and ability to produce tight turns with minimal kerf, and they also perform acceptably in scroll saw applications. A portion of users report occasional breakage or fast dulling under heavy use, so attentive lubrication and careful handling extend life. Overa

Reviews

  1. TheChief 5/5

Confirmed count — 144 blades included

I doubted the tally when I opened the pack, but there really are 144 blades inside. I counted them to be sure.

  2. MeRCMaN 3/5

    Broke and dulled too quickly

These broke easily for me and lost sharpness fast. I won’t be using them again on my bench.

  3. Lois Davis 5/5

    Solid quality

    Excellent quality

  4. Mike brinker 5/5

    Repeat buyer — dependable supply

I keep ordering these because they work so well and I hand them out so others can try them. Clean shavings often and add lubricant and they last a long time. Don’t twist them and they’ll tolerate a fair bit of abuse.

  5. ttu1stsgt 5/5

    Surprisingly useful for scroll-saw puzzles

I tried these on my scroll saw for jigsaw puzzles. For the price I didn’t expect much, but they worked well. I counted roughly 30 tpi, they leave fine dust, the kerf is tiny and turns are tight. They wear faster than dedicated puzzle blades on 1/4" stock, but they’re a good value.

  6. Federico 4/5

    Buenas sierras

    Calidad suiza a buen precio

  7. Crush 5/5

Last longer and cut cleaner than generic blades

The blades that came with my saw kept snapping and made cutting a chore. These hold an edge longer and let me cut more smoothly without replacing blades constantly.

  8. Ben 5/5

A welcome change from pricier blades

I’ve used many brands and usually paid for higher-end blades, but I needed blades quickly and tried these. After a week they became my go-to. I’ve used a few and only replaced them as they dulled.

  9. A. Stock 5/5

    Great for delicate fretwork

I run these in a scroll saw cutting 1/8" Baltic birch. They perform well at the slowest speed. Without reverse teeth you’ll get burrs on the back, but corners are extremely tight and I routinely cut down to 1 mm pieces.
