Product review
SUNLU High-Toughness Resin is a 405nm UV-reactive photopolymer sold as the Toughness B variant in a clearly labeled bottle. The formulation emphasizes long-lasting toughness and significantly higher elongation compared to regular standard resins, making printed parts less prone to breakage and better suited for structural pieces, durable models, and slightly flexible components.
The resin has low viscosity for improved flow and faster layer formation, which shortens per-layer cure times and helps maintain accurate geometry with reduced volumetric shrinkage. That lower shrinkage improves print stability through wash and post-curing so parts are less likely to crack after handling. Typical use is with LCD, DLP, and SLA desktop resin printers that accept 405nm photopolymers; exposure settings are similar to standard resins but may call for slightly longer wait times and modest exposure adjustments depending on your machine.
This material produces a milder odor during printing compared with many resins and is compatible with routine cleaning using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. SUNLU manufactures a range of resin types on dedicated production lines — including standard, ABS-like, water-washable, nylon-like, and specialty wax/resins — and the High-Toughness grade is intended to be compatible with most consumer LCD/DLP/SLA 3D printers. The product is provided in sealed bottles and is intended to be handled with standard resin safety precautions: gloves, eye protection, and adequate ventilation during use.
Pros
- High elongation and impact resistance
- Low viscosity for smooth flow and faster curing
- Milder printing odor and easy cleaning
Cons
- Slightly less fine-edge crispness than ultra-fine-detail resins
- May require additional supports due to part flex during printing
- Not ideal when absolute rigidity is required
VerdictA robust flexible resin that delivers noticeably greater elongation and impact resistance than typical standard formulations. It flows and cures quickly at 405nm, reduces post-cure cracking, and prints with predictable dimensional stability. Ideal when you need parts that bend rather than snap, while remaining easy to finish and clean.

Great flexibility for costume and props
Bought it to print full-face masks and the results were excellent — sturdy, springy, and survived repeated drop tests. Not my pick for ultra-fine figure detail, but ideal for cosplay and any project needing slight elasticity.

Outstanding choice for hobby printing
Really impressed — this toughness formula performs way beyond SUNLU’s standard lines. It’s somewhat pricier than their basic resins, but the trade-off is obvious: nearly identical printer settings, a touch longer wait times and slightly increased exposure, and you get much tougher, more flexible parts that print like regular resin.

Sturdy resin that machines well
Very impressed by its toughness. Using recommended settings produced solid results; cured parts drill and sand without cracking.

My go-to for resilient miniatures
Fantastic for minis — you may lose an imperceptible bit of ultra-fine detail but gain serious durability. Parts tend to flex during printing so I add extra supports, but those supports pop off cleanly when finished. Strong results overall.

Clearly a top choice for modelers
Decidedly a top pick for scale modeling — the toughness and handling make it a standout for hobby use.

Reliable and mixes well
Solid performance as usual. It mixed fine with leftover gray resin and behaved predictably. Mild scent, cleans with isopropyl alcohol or a household degreaser, and the color is a clean milky white. Printed flawlessly on my Saturn 16K with no failures.

Worth the extra cost for durability
A bit more expensive but worth it — no brittle prints and much less worry removing supports. I’ve mixed it with cheaper resins in a pinch; around a 60/40 mix the flex starts to drop noticeably, so keep proportions in mind.

Now my standard for minis
Switched from a pricier flexible resin and this exceeded expectations. Easier to print, more forgiving, and delivers reliable results. It’s now my primary resin for miniature work unless a different property is specifically required.

Now my favorite all-purpose resin
Works great for miniatures, sculptures and small detailed elements like tiny bows. Its strength has saved prints from falls — a six-foot drop didn’t snap delicate fingers. I also like that it’s offered in larger bottles, which reduces bottle clutter.

Very good resilience and service
Very good resilience and flexibility. No issues with delivery or the purchasing experience.

Perfect for wargaming minis
I switched from blending tougheners into ABS-like resin and this single product removes that hassle. Easier to tune, more forgiving on exposure, and supports peel away with far less effort. Weapons and thin elements stayed flexible even after curing — several drops and a toddler’s handling didn’t ruin my pieces.

Excellent durability, minor detail trade-off
Durability is top-tier and helps when assembling pieces connected by props or weapons. I print at 0.04mm layers with short exposures and only failed due to my own planning. Detail is a tad softer than my favorite ultra-detail resin but still well above basic board-game quality.
