What’s included: a single dual-sided shedding blade with a stainless steel comb and a soft-touch, ergonomically shaped handle.

Materials and build: the comb is made from stainless steel with two tooth profiles — a coarse edge for thicker, longer coats and a finer edge for short or dense fur. The handle has a soft, non-slip finish that conforms to your hand for secure control during grooming. The tool is compact and handheld, intended for direct use on pets of many sizes.

How it’s used: the blade can be used two ways — separate the handle halves to cover larger surface areas quickly, or hold the handles together for more delicate, localized work. Glide the looped stainless edge in the direction of hair growth to capture loose undercoat and surface hair. Do not press too hard; the metal edges are effective but can feel sharp if used aggressively. For older animals or areas with loose skin, support the skin with your free hand and use a lighter touch.

Suitability and results: designed for both long- and short-haired dogs and cats and suitable for larger animals such as horses. It’s intended as a home grooming tool to cut down on shedding between professional groomer visits. The blade traps and pulls out loose fur efficiently, helping keep pet coats cleaner and reducing hair around the house.

Safety note: the stainless edges are purposefully firm to remove dead hair — avoid excessive pressure to prevent skin irritation. Keep out of reach of children and inspect the blade occasionally for wear.

Pros

  • Two tooth sizes for short and long coats
  • Ergonomic, non-slip soft-touch handle
  • Can be used open for big areas or closed for detail

Cons

  • Metal edges can feel sharp if used too hard
  • Not the most durable option for heavy daily use
  • Loose fur can scatter — best used outdoors or over a mat

VerdictA versatile, easy-to-use de-shedding blade that removes a lot of loose fur and fits a range of coat types. The ergonomic, non-slip grip and option to use handles apart or together make grooming more efficient. Metal edges are effective but require a gentle hand and occasional heavy users may prefer a heavier-duty model.

Reviews

  1. Rachel 5/5

    Works well on livestock

I used this on my goats to remove undercoat — it did a good job. The grip is comfortable and it’s simple to clean and use.

  2. Stealthmama 5/5

    Works best outdoors

Excellent at pulling loose fur but the hairs fly everywhere. I recommend using it outside or over a dedicated surface.

  3. Julia 5/5

Cats and short-haired dogs enjoy it

Perfect for my shorthaired dog — removed a lot of tiny loose hairs. My cats liked being brushed with it too.

  4. Katie 5/5

    Impressive results with little fuss

Easy to operate, comfortable to hold, and pulls out a lot of loose hair without making grooming a chore.

  5. Vaibhav M. 5/5

    Surprisingly effective

I was skeptical after seeing a short clip, but the first stroke removed a surprising amount of loose hair. It’s easy to use and very efficient.

  6. Martini Linn 3/5

Effective but not for heavy daily use

Worked great at first and the handle felt comfy. After daily use for a month on a 35 lb dog the metal popped out of the handle. Good for occasional grooming; frequent users may want a heavier-duty tool.

  7. Tonya Bussel 5/5

Durable and gentle when handled carefully

After many uses it’s held up well. You can use it as a loop or extend the handles for a longer reach. The metal teeth worried me at first but haven’t hurt my dogs when I’m gentle. Take extra care on seniors with loose skin by supporting their skin and using a lighter touch.

  8. Blazed Bibliophile 4/5

    Handy dual-sided design

The split-handle makes it easier to reach belly and leg areas. One edge clears heavy fur, the other is finer for sensitive spots. The soft grip keeps my hand comfortable during longer sessions.

  9. BK-HW-TEST 5/5

    Outstanding outcome

Very good results — performance varies with hair length.

  10. Manuela Preisinger-Leiß 5/5

    Excellent for large animals

Great tool for our horses — solid performance and very useful for routine grooming.

  11. Annabell Schulze 5/5

    Worked well on my horse

It did a very good job on my horse and made grooming quicker.

  12. Peter Nickels 2/5

    Too soft for some needs

This comb is a bit too soft; it mainly works when pulled in the direction of the hair.
