Product review

High Performance Extreme Marine Grease is a calcium sulfonate‑based lubricant formulated to NLGI 2 consistency and enriched with PTFE to lower friction. The product comes as a pack of three 3-ounce cartridges and carries manufacturer part number 8M0071837. It is designed for demanding, high-temperature and high-load conditions commonly encountered in marine and powersports applications.

The compound resists water washout and provides robust film strength on metal surfaces. Typical uses include steering system and throttle/shift cables, gimbal and pivot bearings, universal joints, suspension linkages and wheel bearings. It is suitable for trucks, campers, ATV/UTVs, snowmobiles, utility trailers and motorcycles, and serves well as a wheel bearing grease when a marine‑grade product is preferred.

This grease is produced to meet Mercury Marine original equipment specifications to support Mercury and Mariner outboards as well as MerCruiser sterndrives. The Quicksilver brand has supplied marine engine oils, parts and accessories for decades; this product is positioned to provide reliable protection and long service life, having been formulated and tested for harsh marine environments.

Pros

  • Calcium sulfonate base with PTFE for strong film and low friction
  • Handles high temperatures and heavy loads
  • Pack of three 3-oz cartridges, OEM spec (8M0071837)

Cons

  • Only available in multi-packs, not single tubes
  • Foil seal on cartridge ends can be difficult to remove
  • Not color-matched for all hull finishes

VerdictThis calcium sulfonate NLGI 2 formulation with PTFE delivers long-lasting lubrication for marine and powersports components under heat and load. It’s versatile for cables, bearings and wheel hubs, and the three 3-ounce cartridges make it handy for routine maintenance. Packaging quirks aside, it’s a durable, OEM-spec lubricant that protects moving parts and reduces friction over extended service in

Solid marine lubricant, wish sold singly

Authentic marine grease that handles motor and steering duties well. I'd prefer single tubes instead of only multi-packs.

    Matches retail equivalents

Same formulation you'd find elsewhere, delivered in a convenient three-pack.

  8. AH64guy 4/5

Sticks and handles heat, but seal is fiddly

High heat tolerance and good adhesion, but the foil seal on the tube end is hard to remove and can interfere with the plunger if not cleared.
