Flow and Service Features
The system uses a 1.5" diameter internal pipe for unrestricted circulation and includes a built-in drain to simplify winterizing and service tasks. A pressure gauge is fitted to the tank to monitor operating pressure and indicate when backwashing is needed.

Performance Specs
This sand filter is rated for pools of roughly 24,000 gallons and has a filtration flow capacity near 2,520 gallons per hour. Both the internal main pipe and the outlet connections are 1.5" in diameter to match common hose and pump fittings.

Construction and Materials
The housing is compact and intended for all-weather use. Critical moving parts incorporate brass inserts to extend life and maintain reliable performance. Each tank is tested before shipment to help ensure structural integrity.

Filtration Role
Water from the pool pump is directed into the tank where sand or alternative media capture suspended dirt and particles, returning cleaner water to the pool. The unit accepts about 175 pounds of media sand (media not included).

Valve and Dimensions
A top-mounted 7-position multiport valve lets you select Filter, Backwash, Winterize, Re-circulate, Closed, Rinse, and Waste settings for routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Overall dimensions are approximately 19" W x 19" L x 35-1/4" H. Note: pump is required but not supplied with the filter.

Pros

  • Simple 7-way valve for easy maintenance
  • 1.5" plumbing and 2,520 GPH filtration rate
  • Durable fittings with brass-reinforced components

Cons

  • Some reports of leaks at connections
  • Requires 175 lb of sand and adapters for some setups
  • Occasional fitment issues with replacement parts

VerdictThis 19" sand filter offers straightforward operation and robust filtration for many inground and aboveground pools. Its 1.5" internal piping and 7-way valve make routine backwashing and maintenance simple, and a built-in drain plus pressure gauge help with servicing and winterizing. The tank accepts about 175 pounds of sand (or filter media), has a rated flow around 2,520 gallons per hour, and is

    Satisfied after professional install

Bought this to replace a tank split along a seam. Had my pool service install it and everything is functioning correctly at this time.

Works with filter balls; top cracked

Compatible with filter balls and filters well, but the lid arrived cracked. Customer service handled a replacement quickly and that fixed the issue.

  3. Bubby 5/5

    Solid build and effective

Feels well made for the money. I run it on a 32x16 inground pool using filter balls and it’s been working very well so far.

    Happy with the upgrade

Replaced an old DE filter with this sand unit and I'm pleased. Switched to filter balls instead of sand and installed a new motor — everything’s running smoothly. The gauge helps me know when to backwash. Assembly and setup were straightforward; it filters clearly and looks better than the old system.

    Sturdy replacement unit

Does what I needed as a replacement. Filters the water well, seems to be made from sturdy material, and was easy to plumb into my existing lines. Appears like it will last.

  6. T. B. 5/5

    Good quality so far

Nice design and straightforward setup. It’s been running for a week and is doing an excellent job keeping the water clear. Hoping it holds up long term.

    Second unit — repeated failures

This is my second tank from this maker and both caused trouble. The first leaked at the backwash and eventually failed after a year. The replacement started leaking from the backwash port immediately with no pressure applied. Factor in the time for returns, buying 175 lbs of sand and adapters to fit different hose sizes — it became costly. Update: after blocking the backwash port while waiting for a valve, I tested it and then it leaked from another fitting; it arrived with a missing O-ring and loose parts, which I had to correct.

    Filter head failed within months

Installed in November and by March the multiport head developed a leak. Warranty support was not helpful in my case. I rarely post reviews but wanted to warn others about potential early failures.
